The Shimano Spheros SW is a true all-rounder in the saltwater spinning reel category, designed to handle both inshore and offshore fishing applications with confidence. Built for anglers chasing everything from coastal species to powerful offshore predators, the Spheros SW delivers strength, durability and smooth performance in harsh saltwater environments.
Now upgraded with Shimano’s Infinity Drive technology, the Spheros SW provides increased winding power under load by improving pinion gear support. This results in smoother, more efficient cranking when fighting strong fish or working heavy lures.
Durability is a key focus, with the reel featuring both X-Protect and X-Shield systems to enhance water resistance. Together, these technologies deliver an IPX8-rated body, protecting internal components from water intrusion and extending the reel’s lifespan in tough conditions.
The expanded size range now includes additional models such as the 14000 and 18000, bridging the gap between the 10000 and 20000 sizes. This allows anglers to better match their reel choice to specific fishing applications, from heavy casting through to offshore jigging and bait fishing.
