The Daiwa 23 Saltist series has been purpose-built around the demands of Australian saltwater fishing, offering anglers a highly capable offshore rod range that balances lightweight performance, lifting strength and everyday fishability across a huge variety of offshore applications.
Built on responsive HVF graphite blanks and reinforced with Daiwa’s Braiding-X carbon technology, the 23 Saltist range feels noticeably lighter, crisper and more responsive than previous generations while still maintaining the durability needed for harsh offshore environments. The slim-profile blanks recover quickly during casting and jigging, improving lure control, reducing fatigue and helping anglers stay connected to the lure throughout the retrieve.
One of the standout strengths of the Saltist range is its versatility. With over 20 spin and overhead models covering PE1 through to PE8 applications, the lineup comfortably handles everything from casting soft plastics and stickbaits through to offshore jigging, popper fishing and heavy pelagic work. Shorter overhead and spin models excel for offshore jigging and bottom fishing, while the longer spin models are designed around shore casting, stickbait fishing and offshore lure applications targeting pelagic species.
The rod actions throughout the range have been specifically refined around popular Australian fishing styles. Faster tapers improve casting distance and lure response while still maintaining enough lower blank power to control larger fish around reef, structure and heavy current.
