Product Description
The Daiwa Saltiga Tournament Game series has been purpose-built for serious Australian offshore anglers chasing high-performance light tackle game rods with maximum comfort, refined actions and premium offshore componentry.
Developed in collaboration with experienced Sydney tournament game anglers, the Saltiga Tournament range focuses heavily on stand-up fish-fighting performance and practical offshore fishability. Every detail of the series has been refined to improve angler comfort during prolonged battles while maintaining the lifting power and responsiveness needed for modern light tackle game fishing.
At the core of the range is Daiwa’s HVF Nanoplus blank construction. By increasing graphite density and reducing excess resin throughout the blank, Daiwa creates a rod that feels noticeably lighter and more responsive while still maintaining the strength required for heavy drag pressures and prolonged offshore fights. The blanks are designed to fish comfortably under load while still keeping lures swimming naturally and effectively through varying sea conditions.
One of the standout features of the Saltiga Tournament range is the custom Winthrop Epic straight butt system. Known as one of the lightest straight butt designs available, the Winthrop setup significantly reduces overall rod weight while improving stand-up ergonomics and harness positioning. Daiwa and Winthrop also extended the gimbal insert length specifically to suit the preferences of experienced Australian game anglers fishing modern stand-up techniques.
The rod actions themselves have been heavily refined through extensive prototype testing to create highly forgiving and comfortable offshore tapers. The rods load progressively through the blank, allowing anglers to lean into the harness and apply sustained pressure without unnecessary strain while still maintaining excellent lifting control over stubborn fish.
Premium Fuji Stainless Steel SiC guides and heavy-duty Fuji reel seats complete the package, delivering smooth braid and mono line flow, excellent durability and reliable offshore performance under heavy drag settings.
Available in multiple line classes from 8kg through to 24kg, the Saltiga Tournament Game range is designed to cover a broad range of Australian offshore trolling and live bait fishing applications targeting tuna, striped marlin, black marlin, mahi mahi, wahoo and other pelagic species.
Built specifically for demanding offshore conditions, the Daiwa Saltiga Tournament Game series delivers lightweight comfort, premium offshore performance and serious fish-fighting capability for dedicated Australian game anglers.
