Product Description
Daiwa 23 Infeet Z Rods
The Daiwa 23 Infeet Z range brings together seven technique-focused spinning rods for Australian estuary and finesse fishing. From close-range soft-plastic presentations to small crankbaits, metal vibes and crab-style lures, each model offers a distinct combination of length, taper and casting range.
The range features SVF Nanoplus graphite blanks, X45X Full Shield construction, a hybrid Fuji SiC guide train with titanium-framed upper guides, and AIRSENSOR Neo-Traditional reel seats. The 782LFS-ST also features a MEGATOP solid graphite tip.
Choose your model around the lures you fish most often. Start with total rigged lure weight, then compare taper, length and section configuration rather than relying on line rating alone.
681LFS (Red Cosmetic): close-range soft plastics and accurate casting
The 681LFS is a 6'8" one-piece spinning rod with a fast taper, a 1–7g casting range and a 1–4kg line rating.
The shortest model in the range, it suits controlled soft-plastic presentations around pontoons, boat hulls and tight creek structure. Its compact length is useful for underhand and skip-casting approaches where accurate placement matters more than extra reach.
Compare this with the 712LFS or 732LFS when choosing between a shorter one-piece rod and a longer butt-jointed option.
702LRS (Blue Cosmetic): a regular-taper option for treble-hooked lures
The 702LRS is a 7' two-piece spinning rod with a regular taper, a 1–7g casting range and a 1–4kg line rating.
Its progressive loading action suits small crankbaits, minnows and other treble-hooked presentations. It is a useful starting point when hardbodies are your main technique and you prefer a regular taper over the faster-loading alternatives.
Compared with the 742ULRS, it offers a shorter format with higher listed casting and line ratings.
712LFS (Red Cosmetic): light plastics and small-hardbody work
The 712LFS is a 7'1" butt-jointed two-piece spinning rod with a fast taper, a 1–7g casting range and a 1–4kg line rating.
The existing model guidance identifies this rod for both lightly weighted soft plastics and twitching small hardbodies. Its softer tip character provides a different feel from the firmer 732LFS, while its length offers an alternative to the compact 681LFS.
Choose between these models by presentation style and preferred tip response, not just their shared casting range.
732ULFS (Red Cosmetic): ultra-light metal vibes and blades
The 732ULFS is a 7'3" butt-jointed two-piece spinning rod with a fast taper, a 0.5–5g casting range and a 0.5–3kg line rating.
Developed around light metal-vibe presentations, it offers an ultra-light alternative to the 732LFS. Consider it for small blades and other finesse lures that fall within its casting range.
Compared with the 742ULRS, it provides a slightly shorter, fast-taper option at the same listed casting and line ratings.
732LFS (Red Cosmetic): longer-reach soft-plastic presentations
The 732LFS is a 7'3" butt-jointed two-piece spinning rod with a fast taper, a 1–7g casting range and a 1–4kg line rating.
This model is aimed at soft-plastic fishing where casting distance, precise lure movements and taking up slack line are priorities. Its firmer character distinguishes it from the softer-tipped 712LFS.
Choose it when you prefer that response in a longer plastics rod. Its extra length does not increase its listed casting limit, so include both jighead and plastic when checking lure weight.
742ULRS (Blue Cosmetic): small crankbaits with a regular taper
The 742ULRS is a 7'4" butt-jointed two-piece spinning rod with a regular taper, a 0.5–5g casting range and a 0.5–3kg line rating.
A technique-focused choice for small, light crankbaits, it combines the range’s ultra-light ratings with a progressively loading action. Suitable presentations include smaller Infeet Spike, Rollin’ Crank and Kodachi models within its casting range.
Compare it with the 732ULFS when choosing between regular and fast tapers, or with the 702LRS when your hardbodies require the higher 1–7g casting range.
782LFS-ST (Red Cosmetic): crab presentations and a MEGATOP solid tip
The 782LFS-ST is a 7'8" two-piece spinning rod with a fast taper, a 2–10g casting range and a 1–4kg line rating.
The longest model in the range, it features Daiwa’s MEGATOP solid graphite tip and is designed around crab-style lure presentations. Its tip construction offers a different loading feel from the other listed models, while the additional length provides reach for managing line and presenting lures.
Consider this model when crab-style lures are a regular part of your fishing. Check lighter presentations carefully against its listed 2g minimum casting weight.
Before you choose
Match the complete model code to your selected option. Compare total rigged lure weight, taper, length and section configuration together.
Butt-jointed two-piece rods do not necessarily separate into equal-length sections. Confirm packed length separately if transport or storage space is important.
Line ratings are not recommended drag settings. Match working drag to your rod, line, leader and connections.
If you’re deciding between models, tell us your reel, usual rigged lure weights and preferred techniques, and we can help narrow the options.
