The Daiwa 23 TD Hyper range spans light-lure spin, heavier spin, baitcast and swimbait configurations. High-modulus carbon-fibre blanks with bi-axial graphite cloth, Fuji anti-tangle O Ring guides and Daiwa reel seats provide the foundation for a broad selection of lure-fishing outfits.

Ultra-light spin: 1–5g

These options share a listed 1–5g casting bracket and 1–2kg line rating. Ideally suited to finesse lure fishing for Bream, Trout, Bass and Redfin.

• 662ULFS: Two pieces, 6ft6in, fast taper. A shorter option for targeting Trout, Redfin and Bass in creeks, streams and smaller waterways.

• 561HFB: 5ft6in. A compact, powerful option for Murray Cod, Barramundi and Mangrove Jack, particularly when casting accuracy and close-range lure control are priorities.

• 601HFB: 6ft. Suitable for Murray Cod, Barramundi and Mangrove Jack, offering slightly more length for working larger hardbodies and soft plastics.

Swimbait options

• 661XH-SB: One piece, 6ft6in, fast taper, 14–150g and 15–24kg. Designed for heavy swimbait applications, particularly targeting Murray Cod and large Barramundi with substantial soft and hard swimbaits.

• 76XH-SB: Listed as 762XH-SB, 7ft6in, two pieces, fast taper, 220g maximum and 15–24kg. A longer heavy-duty swimbait option for Murray Cod and large Barramundi, especially when casting oversized swimbaits and glidebaits.

Include hooks, rings and added rigging in swimbait weight. A maximum casting figure is not necessarily the ideal casting weight.

Match the full selected option with its specifications and reel type. Include the complete rigged lure weight when comparing casting brackets, and choose taper and length around your technique rather than using line rating alone.

Line ratings are not recommended drag settings. Set working drag to suit the rod, line, knots and leader. Confirm packed dimensions where transport matters, as section count does not establish equal-length sections.
