Product Description
The Daiwa 25 Seaborg DG Electric Fishing Rod Range has been developed around the growing popularity of compact electric fishing outfits that can be comfortably fished in the hand rather than permanently sitting in a rod holder.
Designed specifically to complement Daiwa's smaller Seaborg electric reels in the 300, 400 and 500 size classes, the Seaborg DG series gives offshore anglers a lighter, more versatile approach to deepwater fishing. Whether you're dropping baits onto offshore reefs for snapper and pearl perch, targeting coral trout and red emperor over hard bottom, or fishing deeper water for blue-eye trevalla and hapuka, the range offers a purpose-built solution for modern electric reel fishing.
At the core of the range is Daiwa's X45 blank technology. This advanced carbon construction helps reduce blank twist under load, creating a rod that feels more stable during the fight while also improving sensitivity. The result is better bite detection and greater control when fishing deep water where subtle touches can often go unnoticed.
Unlike many traditional electric rod designs that focus purely on brute lifting power, the Seaborg DG range has been designed with balance and fishability in mind. The lighter and more responsive actions make them equally effective for reef fishing and deepwater bottom fishing applications, allowing anglers to fish actively while still benefiting from the convenience of electric reels.
Premium Fuji reel seats and Fuji stainless steel SiC guides further enhance durability and performance. The SiC guide system provides exceptional heat dissipation during long retrieves under heavy loads, helping maintain smooth line flow and long-term reliability when fishing braided lines and electric reel setups.
One of the biggest advantages of the Seaborg DG series is its versatility across different offshore species and fishing depths. The lighter PE3-4 model is perfectly suited to snapper, pearl perch and coral trout, while the heavier PE5-6 model comfortably handles deepwater species such as blue-eye trevalla, gemfish, hapuka and bass groper. This gives anglers the ability to build an electric fishing outfit tailored specifically to their local offshore fishery.
