The Daiwa 26 Infeet BF range offers four baitcasting models for finesse lure fishing across Australian estuaries and freshwater. Designed to pair with bait finesse reels, the range covers compact rods for accurate close-range presentations through to longer options for extra reach and line management.

HVF Nanoplus blanks, X45 Full Shield construction and ZERO SEAT reel seats form the core feature package. Split-grip handles and a guide package incorporating Fuji Titanium, Alconite and SiC components complete the range.

Choose your model around the total weight of your rigged lure, then compare taper, length and section configuration. Your reel, line and brake settings also matter when casting light lures, so match the complete outfit rather than choosing the rod in isolation.

621LRB (Blue Cosmetic): compact regular-taper finesse fishing

The 621LRB is a 6'2" one-piece baitcasting rod with a regular taper, a 1–7g casting range and a 1–4kg line rating.

The shortest model in the BF range, it is worth considering when casting space is limited or you prefer a compact outfit for close-range lure work. Its progressively loading action offers an option for small crankbaits, minnows and other finesse presentations within its casting range.

Compare it with the 702LRB when choosing between regular-taper models. Both share the same listed casting and line ratings, but the 621LRB offers a shorter, one-piece format.

681L+FB (Red Cosmetic): a higher casting range with a fast taper

The 681L+FB is a 6'8" one-piece baitcasting rod with a fast taper, a 2–10g casting range and a 2–5kg line rating.

This model has the highest listed casting range and line rating in the BF lineup. Consider it when your usual soft plastics, hardbodies or small surface lures sit above the lighter end of the other models’ casting ranges.

Its fast taper offers a different loading response from the regular-taper 621LRB. Choose it because its ratings and handling suit your presentations, not simply because it has the highest figures. Check lighter rigs against its listed 2g minimum casting weight.

702LRB (Blue Cosmetic): a longer regular-taper option

The 702LRB is a 7' butt-jointed two-piece baitcasting rod with a regular taper, a 1–7g casting range and a 1–4kg line rating.

It offers a longer alternative to the 621LRB for anglers who prefer additional reach while retaining a progressively loading action. Consider it for small crankbaits, minnows and other light presentations where a regular taper suits your fishing style.

Compared with the 782LFB, it provides a shorter regular-taper option at the same listed casting and line ratings. Choose between them by preferred loading response and rod length.

782LFB (Red Cosmetic): extra reach for finesse presentations

The 782LFB is a 7'8" butt-jointed two-piece baitcasting rod with a fast taper, a 1–7g casting range and a 1–4kg line rating.

The longest model in the range, it is worth considering for open-water presentations where extra reach and line management are useful. Its fast taper provides an alternative to the regular-taper 702LRB for anglers who prefer a more responsive loading character.

Consider it for finesse soft plastics and small hardbodies within its casting range. The additional length does not increase the listed 7g casting limit, so include the complete lure or rig when checking weight.

Before you choose

Match the full model code to your selected option. Compare total rigged lure weight, taper, length and section configuration together.

A bait finesse rod works as part of a complete outfit. Choose a suitable baitcasting reel and line, then adjust braking and spool settings to the lure and conditions.

Butt-jointed rods do not necessarily separate into equal-length sections. Confirm packed length separately if transport or storage space matters.

Line ratings are not recommended drag settings. Match working drag to your rod, line, leader and connections.
