How to choose your leader
- Balance presentation and protection: Consider your target fish, lure size, mainline, drag setting and nearby structure. Lighter leader can suit finer presentations; heavier leader offers more margin where abrasion and demanding fishing conditions are concerns.
- Check the whole setup: Leader strength alone does not determine how much pressure your tackle can handle. Match your knots, hooks, rod and drag to the application.
- Inspect during the session: Check for nicks or rough patches after contact with structure or after landing a fish, and replace damaged sections.
Strength and spool length
The Type selector shows both breaking strain and spool length. “10lb-100m” means 10lb leader on a 100m spool.
- 100m spools: 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 20lb.
- 50m spools: 25, 30, 40, 50, 60 and 80lb.
Confirm both the strength and spool length before adding to cart.
