Product Description
Daiwa Tanacom Electric Reel
The Daiwa Tanacom range brings powered retrieval to offshore deep-drop fishing. This listing offers the 800 and 1200, with model selection best guided by your required line capacity, outfit balance and power setup.
When you're checking baits or resetting a deep drift, electric retrieval reduces the amount of manual winding involved. Choose the reel as part of a complete outfit, taking account of your rod, braid, fishing depth and rig rather than the size number alone.
Tanacom 800: lower listed reel weight
The 800 is identified as the 23 Tanacom 800 (A) in the specifications. It lists a weight of 1910g, a 2.1:1 gear ratio, 25kg drag pressure and capacity of PE6/800m.
Consider it when that line capacity meets your needs and you prefer the lower listed reel weight of the two selectable options. Leave capacity for the line angle and reserve you need, rather than matching spool capacity directly to water depth.
Tanacom 1200: larger listed line capacity
The 1200 lists a weight of 2040g, a 2.1:1 gear ratio, 25kg drag pressure and capacity of PE No.8/1000m. It is 130g heavier than the listed 800.
Choose it when your planned braid and required reserve call for that larger capacity. The capacity figures use different PE sizes, so PE6/800m and PE8/1000m are not a direct same-line comparison.
The 1200-specific design incorporates the motor inside the spool with a reworked drivetrain and internal components. Its redesigned menu system and Dot Monitor LCD focus on setup and readability, while an aluminium ball knob provides the manual winding grip.
Retrieval controls and setup
The Tanacom range's described controls include a Power Lever for winding-speed control, a digital line readout, programmable auto-stop, automated jigging and a manual winding option. Check the selected model's manual for the exact controls and setup procedure.
Follow its line-input and calibration instructions before relying on the counter or auto-stop position. Monitor retrieval as the terminal rig approaches the boat rather than treating an automated stop as a substitute for watching the outfit.
