Product Description
Daiwa TD Offshore Rods
The Daiwa TD Offshore range brings together spin and overhead rods for jigging, bait fishing and casting. Developed as a Daiwa x Hot Tackle series, the range combines high-performance graphite blanks, contoured EVA grips, Fuji K-frame O-Ring guides and stainless steel hooded reel seats.
Choose by how you fish first. A short spin rod for working below the boat is a different tool from a longer rod for casting, while the overhead models need an overhead reel. Matching the rod to your technique, line and lure or jig weight is more useful than choosing the heaviest rating available.
Shorter spin options
- Spin 5ft6in PE3–5, S56-3/5: A one-piece, regular-taper option with a listed weight range of 90–180g. A starting point for a compact boat-based jigging outfit when that line and weight range suits your fishing.
- Spin 5ft6in PE5–8, S56-5/8: Shares the shorter format but steps up to PE5–8 and a listed 150–300g weight range. Choose this over the PE3–5 version when your planned jig and line are heavier, rather than assuming the two rods are interchangeable.
- Spin 6ft4in PE2–4, S64-2/4: A one-piece, regular-taper option with a listed 60–120g range. Consider it for a lighter offshore spin outfit than the PE5–8 models, matching the rod to the actual weight you will fish.
- Spin 6ft6in PE4–8, S66-4/8: A one-piece, regular-taper model with a listed maximum weight of 400g. Consider it when your setup calls for that line range and a longer rod than the 5ft6in options. A maximum rating is not a target weight for every situation.
Overhead options
- Slow Jig O/H 6ft2in PE4, SJB62-4: A one-piece overhead model with a fast taper and a listed 160–400g weight range. Choose it for a dedicated overhead slow-jig setup, matching jig weight to the conditions and the rod's stated range.
- O/H 6ft6in 15–24kg, B66-15/24: A one-piece, regular-taper overhead rod rated for 15–24kg line. Consider it for an overhead bait-fishing or trolling outfit where that line rating suits your setup.
Longer spin options for casting
- Spin 7ft9in PE3–5, S79-3/5: The longer casting-style option listed with a 30–100g weight range and regular taper. Consider it when you want more casting reach than the shorter boat rods.
- Spin 9ft 2pc PE3–5, S902-3/5: A two-piece, regular-taper model with a listed 50–120g range. Consider it for land-based casting where a longer rod suits your location and presentation, allowing for the space needed to cast and handle the outfit.
Features across the range
- High-performance graphite blanks: The foundation of the range's casting and fish-fighting actions.
- Fuji O-Ring K guides: Guide trains for the range's spin and overhead configurations.
- Contoured EVA grips: Shaped grips for handling the rod during a session.
- Stainless steel hooded reel seats: Secure your matching reel as part of the complete outfit.
Match the rod to the complete setup
Check spin versus overhead configuration before selecting a reel. Use the line and weight ratings for the exact model, and do not treat PE numbers as a fixed breaking strain across every braid brand.
For jigging, consider depth, current and the weight needed to work the jig effectively. For casting, match the total lure or rig weight to the appropriate model.
