Product Description
The blank is a tough, sturdy graphite/fibreglass composite construction, and the rod measures 8'0" in length. This means that most lures or baits can be trolled straight from the rod tip with the extra height assisting the clean running of a rigged bait, and the correct popping action with a trolled lure.
This length also assists in quickly whipping and flicking the lure or bait from the water and away from the teased fish, allowing the fish to focus on a presented fly, bait or lure (instead of following the teaser all the way to the transom).
The entry guide is a large Zirconia ceramic in a custom titanium guide frame, the exit guide is a low profile tip-top fitting with ceramic insert.
Both entry and exit guides are sized to allow line attachments such as waxed thread and rubber bands to be wound back onto the reel without jamming. And most importantly, this guide set-up is tangle-free! Line can and will fall onto the rod when actively teasing fish and this style guide train simply allows the line to slip straight off the rod and the teasing can immediately continue.
The handle is fitted with an alloy gimbal for keying into rod holders while used as a trolling teaser rod, and is fitted with a hard 'Slick butt' for ease of removal from a rod holder even if under pressure. The graphite pipe seat has the longer locking nut to ensure the reel is easy to secure and is extended with an alloy part to allow for larger reel feet to fit. The fore-grip is x-firm, long EVA in blue Camoufish.
The Billfish Teaser Pole is designed in 2pc equal sections for easy stowage and transport, and be left rigged with a swivel tied ready to go at a moment's notice!
*Please ensure that heavy line is used on this rod! We recommend using at least 200lb line in either dacron, braid or monofilament and heavier will still work fine. Recommended reels are capable high speed game reels with or without a lever drag.
