Product Description
After a long period of R&D and Australian on-water testing, Ian’s ‘LongCast’ BFS version has been added to the range.
Designed for fishing our more open waters, this model is the perfect power for both estuary and freshwater species.
More to the point, it is designed for a practical range of lure weights that we use in these environs! With a broad casting recommendation of 2-12gm this is a truly versatile BFS rod that has the popular lure choices covered.
Exhibiting extreme lightness in the hand and incredible sensitivity and balance, the BFS LongCast has the perfect rod length for extra casting distance in open areas but also has some low-down power for tackling bigger fish!
The blank action is smooth loading which is imperative when casting ultra-light lures. It opens the window a little wider for when the lure can be released to accurately reach the target.
Blank construction is the new ‘5X’. This all-new blank technology is super responsive, ultra lightweight and is constructed with blended carbons and nano resin. All designed to maximise Millerods benchmarks of lightweight sensitivity!
The multi-guide train is a composition of Kigan titanium ultra-light guide frames that are ideal for BFS. The generous quantity of 11 guides + tip-top are corrosion free and guarantee line runs true and easy and further enhances the overall casting and retrieving smoothness of this rod performance.
The exclusive, custom Millerods anti-tangle hook keeper keeps the lure stowed at the ready in-between casts.
The Millerods ‘Drifter’ style handle incorporates a minimalist EVA butt grip, short cork casting grip, carbon locking fore-grip and alloy seat fittings. The BFS LongCast utilises a lightweight barrel, coated with soft-touch paint to stay smooth in the palm. This is all finished with the anti-skid Millerods butt cap.
While this rod is perfect for estuary fishing, it's equally suited to any BFS application where a rod of this length is suitable and some fish fighting authority is needed!
^Millerods recommends the use of the FG knot for connecting braided fishing lines to monofilament leaders. All Ian’s lure casting guide trains are selected with this connecting knot in mind.
