Developed for modern offshore casting applications, the Full Throttle range is designed to excel with stickbaits, poppers and large surface presentations where casting distance, lure control and fish-fighting power are critical. Whether you're targeting kingfish around pressure points, casting at feeding tuna offshore or working surface lures over reef systems for GTs, the range has been engineered to handle the demands of serious bluewater fishing.
At the heart of the series is Shimano's most advanced blank technology package. Spiral X Core construction combines Shimano's Spiral X carbon architecture with Nanoalloy technology to significantly increase torsional and compressive rigidity while maintaining an incredibly lightweight feel. Working alongside Hi-Power X construction, the blank resists twisting and ovalisation under load, resulting in more efficient power transfer, greater casting accuracy and improved fish-fighting control.
One of the standout features of the 2024 Full Throttle range is the introduction of Shimano's Screw Lock Joint system. This innovative joint design provides increased connection strength and stability between rod sections while making assembly and disassembly simple and secure. The result is a two-piece rod that fishes with the feel and performance of a one-piece blank while offering greater transport convenience.
Shimano's premium X Guide system further enhances casting performance.
