The Shimano SLX DC brings Digital Control (DC) braking technology into a more accessible platform, giving anglers the benefits of advanced casting performance without the premium price tag. At the core of the SLX DC is Shimano’s Digital Control braking system, which uses a built-in microcomputer to monitor spool speed and apply the optimal braking force throughout the cast. With four adjustable braking settings, anglers can fine-tune performance to suit different lure types, casting styles and weather conditions, delivering improved distance and accuracy while dramatically reducing backlash.
Built with a rigid Hagane Body, the SLX DC provides strength and durability, ensuring smooth operation and consistent gear alignment under load. This results in efficient power transfer and reliable cranking performance when fighting fish.
The reel features a 48mm handle, offering excellent leverage and control, and is available in multiple gear ratios including 6.3:1, 7.2:1 (HG) and 8.2:1 (XG). This allows anglers to choose the perfect speed for their fishing style—whether slow rolling, twitching or high-speed retrieves.
