Vexed Micro Meat 5g Jig
The Vexed Micro Meat 5g Jig is a clever micro jig designed to increase catch rates when targeting popular inshore species such as sand whiting, king george whiting, bream and flathead. Developed as a micro version of the Bottom Meat concept, this hybrid jig provides anglers with multiple effective fishing options from both boat and shore.
One of the most effective ways to fish the Micro Meat is as the sinker on a paternoster rig. Instead of using a standard sinker, the jig becomes an active fish-catching presentation on the bottom of the rig. Since a large percentage of whiting are often caught on the bottom dropper hook of a traditional paternoster setup, using the Micro Meat as the sinker creates an additional strike opportunity directly on the seabed.
During testing targeting sand whiting and king george whiting, the Micro Meat consistently caught more fish when used as the sinker compared to the bottom dropper hook alone. By replacing the sinker with the Micro Meat, anglers effectively place two prime fish-catching presentations in the strike zone.
Each jig is tied using super strong and extremely sharp BKK hooks and a carefully selected mix of glow and UV flash fibres combined with rubber strands. These materials create subtle movement and visual flash that attract fish even in low visibility conditions.
The Vexed Micro Meat 5g Jig can also be baited with small strips of fish or squid to further increase its effectiveness when targeting species such as whiting, bream, flathead and inshore snapper.
When fished without bait, it doubles as a small micro jig that can be cast and twitched through shallow structure, slowly hopped across sand flats or lightly jigged along the bottom.
