This popper is crafted from solid Paulownia encapsulated in a hard resin shell, with 2mm stainless steel through wire and multiple layers of tough protective coating for the ultimate durability.
Surface poppers move large amounts of water on the surface with the large cup up front. These types of lures are very effective at drawing attention from large pelagics by simulating distressed prey struggling on the surface.
Swim Action
Unlike some poppers that tumble in flight, the Tyrant will cut through the air for super long casts out to the strike zone. A long heavy stab will create a deep blooping noise and explosive splash, short sharp jerks produce a porpoising action with seductive surface splash and water spray.

There are certain situations that call for a huge explosion to stir everything up and conjure a bite from the depths. The Tyrant has been successful in this regard many times, attracting all the usual suspects: Giant Trevally, Kingfish, Tuna, Mackerel. Construction
All Master Series blanks are constructed using an innovative two-part process, setting Malosi lures apart with their unique design. Initially, a solid paulownia core is created, incorporating hidden internal weights and 2mm stainless steel 316L wire for enhanced durability. This core is then inserted into a silicone mold, where it is encapsulated in a 2mm thick wall of ABS-like resin.
The resulting blank is not only incredibly durable but also hard enough to allow the lure to slide back into a fish’s mouth, effectively eliminating the issue of tooth penetration and failed hook sets. Furthermore, the blank’s strength is augmented by finishing the lure with multiple layers of tough polyurethane, ensuring protection against even the most toothy fish.
