Refund and Returns Policy

Its important to us that you’re satisfied with your experience with Hot Tackle each and every time you interact with us. That’s a key part of our business in the face-to-face shop floor environment and we’re determined to extend that to our online customers as well.

We know that sometimes fishing tackle is a hard category to purchase online; reels can be bigger or smaller than thought, rod tapers not quite as expected – it happens. We’re flexible in our approach to the concept of “change of mind” – provided you can be prompt with your feedback and the product is returned to us in the same condition as we delivered it to you. Key points here is that swing-tags and plastic shrink-wrap is to remain attached to rods, reel box contents remain undisturbed, and lures remain in their packages. Return postage to us is on the buyer.

We’ll very much embrace a common sense approach here as it’s important to us that we can get you sorted with the right product as soon as possible.

Warranty Information

If you have any warranty related concerns, it’s best managed with a phone call to our shop. One of our helpful staff will talk through the process required to be followed.

It’s standard practice within the store to be able to inspect the item in question- meaning we’ll have to have the item returned to us. In some instances, we’ll need to reach out to brand representatives or specialist warranty officers to assess products and often they’ll make the call to approve or disapprove warranties on merit. We’ll talk through this in greater detail but we’ll always stress that users must take genuine care when using fishing gear.

Please note – submersion of reels is generally pretty obvious to anyone who knows what they are looking for; a submerged reel will be rejected for warranty. Similarly, high sticking rods (loading up beyond it’s strain capacity) is common among anglers, particularly those using graphite rods. Again, the break location of a high-sticked rod is a often a give away and will not be covered under warranty

Your rights when purchasing from us

Australian Consumer Law dictates that the products we sell come with guarantees that cannot be excluded.

If you experience major failure of a purchase product, you’ll be entitled to compensation for any reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

The law outlines that you are entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure as referenced above.
