AIRDRIVE DESIGN is incorporated in 23 AIRD through AIRDRIVE ROTOR and AIRDRIVE BAIL.

The rotor is the most obvious and important change, with a significant weight reduction to the rotor unit, lightweight rotation is achieved. By reducing the weight of rotational mass, anglers will feel that 23 AIRD is easier to turn than ever, especially the start up inertia.

The new AIRDRIVE bail is a great upgrade from the previous model, with a lighter weight construction further reducing the weight and lowering the start-up inertia even more.

23 AIRD is built off the same carbon light body, making it rigid, sturdy and impervious to saltwater corrosion. Tough Digigear is installed inside the body to provide a powerful and smooth retrieve, and the comfortable EVA knob is a great quality-of-life upgrade for the keen angler.

AIRDRIVE DESIGN

Daiwa’s new Airdrive Design, a four pillar (Airdrive Rotor, Airdrive Bail, Airdrive Spool, and Airdrive Shaft) design concept that reduces weight, and enhances rotational smoothness and responsiveness to create a reel that is next level in both form and function.

ABS LONGCAST

Compared to conventional spools, the LC-ABS has been shown to increase the average flight distance by approx. 5% due to its reduced weight and modified shape.

ATD DRAG

Daiwa’s Automatic Tournament Drag uses an improved drag grease that exhibits a low viscosity at rest, yet becomes more viscous immediately after drag start up. This reduces initial drag start-up inertia and combined with the structural changes of the ATD Drag System results in a smoother drag from the initial hook up.
