Blade lures

Blade lures are very effective for fishing in both freshwater for species like Australian Bass, Yellowbelly and Murray Cod and saltwater for species like Bream, Flathead and Mulloway. The beauty of these style of lures is how easy they are to cast firstly but more importantly how

effectively they swim both on the drop and on the retrieve. The vibration of these lures when on the move attracts and stimulates fish to strike in all water columns, whether you’re burning them back quickly when casting over structure or fishing deeper in cooler conditions, they can be a game changer over other lures. Popular in tournament circles and a proven performer over many years, you need to add some of these to your tackle box if you want to round out your tackle box.

Chatterbait lures

Chatterbait lures feature a jig head with a blade attached. The blade creates a vibrating and rattling action in the water, designed to mimic the movement of a swimming or dying baitfish. They’re effective for catching a wide range of fish species, including Australian Bass, Yellowbelly and Murray Cod.

Chatterbait lures are often used in freshwater fishing and are popular with anglers thanks to their versatility and ability to attract fish in various water conditions due to the noise and wake they make on the retrieve.

Metal Fishing Lures

Metal lures, as their name suggests are a range of lures designed with weight and compact build in mind to cast long distances from boats, beaches or rocks to access bait schools or deeper water where predatory fish like Salmon, Kingfish, Snapper, Tailor, Trevally, Mackerel and more are to be found. Metal lures or “slugs” as they are often referred as, come in a range of weights from around 7 grams up to around 120 grams. Beyond that weight they become difficult to cast and generally then fall into the metal jig category for vertical fishing [boat].

Metal slugs can be bright chrome, have holographic reflective tape or be painted to resemble specific baitfish to provide the utmost flash and sizzle on the retrieve. It is important to match the lure weight you intend to cast to the weight range your rod can cast, usually found on the label area on your rod.

Creature baits

Creature baits imitate creatures found in water, like yabbies, spiders and lizards. They’re typically made from soft plastic and come in various shapes, sizes, and colours and flavours to look and taste more realistic.

Creature baits are effective for catching various fish species, in both fresh and saltwater including Australian bass, Murray cod, Redfin (perch) Yellowbelly, Silver perch and even Carp.

In saltwater, they are deadly on Bream, Flathead, Whiting and Jewfish (Mulloway).

Creature baits are generally rigged on jig hooks of different weights to suit different fishing techniques, depths, currents and species and fished in various ways. Due to their lifelike appearance and versatility, these fishing lures are valuable to any tackle box.

Fly lures

Fly lures are artificial bait designed to mimic the look and movement of natural aquatic insects, small baitfish, or other organisms found in the water. Typically made of natural materials like feathers, fur and thread, fly lures come in various sizes, shapes and colours and are meant to be used with lightweight fishing lines and long, flexible rods

These lures require skill and precision to cast and manipulate effectively, making fly fishing a challenging and rewarding sport that attracts anglers seeking a unique and immersive experience. While fly lures are commonly used to catch trout, salmon, and bass, they can be effective for various fish species in freshwater environments.

Hard body lures

Hard body lures are designed to be retrieved through the water using techniques like twitching, jerking, trolling or reeling, creating an erratic movement that mimics the behaviour of a wounded or fleeing fish.

Hardbaits, usually associated with minnow-type bodies, can be cast and trolled in both fresh and saltwater for numerous species, such as trout, redfin, perch, and cod in freshwater. In saltwater, everything from Marlin and Tuna, Kingfish, and Trevally to Bream, Flathead, Tailor, Salmon, and many more are all attracted to this style of lure.

When shopping for hardbaits, it’s best to know the species you intend to fish for and ask our knowledgeable staff on the best colours, sizes and depths to suit your preferred target species. The range is vast and continues to grow.

Skirted jigs

Skirted jigs are fishing lures made up of a hook with a weighted head and a skirt made of rubber, feathers, tinsel or other materials. Skirted jigs have a skirt made of rubber strands that imitate the movement of swimming prey, creating a realistic presentation in the water.

The range of skirted jigs that we stock are largely catered towards freshwater applications and species such as Australian Bass and Yellow-Belly. Skirted Jigs can be used for fishing techniques like flipping, pitching, and casting as well as vertical jigging around structure and other deep water spots that are likely to hold bait and predatory fish. They’re popular for their versatility and effectiveness in various fishing conditions, making them a staple in any tackle box.

Popper/stick bait lures

Popper and stick bait lures are topwater fishing lures designed to attract fish by creating a commotion on the water's surface.

Popper lures have a concave shape on their front that causes a popping sound and splashing effect when pulled through the water in an aggressive stop-start retrieve, imitating the sound of prey fleeing from a predator. Stick baits come in floating, slow-sinking and fast-sinking versions for fishing against reef edges, bommies or other structures where you need to get your lure down into the strike zone. They are usually fish-shaped bait with bright and attractive colours and require XXH hardware to withstand the rigours of tackling huge fish!

Both Popper and Stickbait lures often give anglers heart-stopping action on some of the hardest-fighting species in the world, including Spanish mackerel, Giant Trevally, Tuna, and many aggressive tropical species over shallow reef flats — hang on!

Popper and stick bait lures are effective in low-light conditions or when fish are feeding on the surface and can be retrieved at various speeds and with different rod movements to create a realistic and attractive presentation. Anglers favour popper and stick bait lures for their exciting surface strikes, making them popular with topwater fishing enthusiasts.

Trolling lures & skirted trolling lures

Trolling lures are fish shaped, plastic or timber baits that float at rest, but dive when dragged behind a moving boat. Depending on your target species and the depth of water you are fishing in, there are many lures to choose from in different weights, lengths and colours to suit.

Typically trolling minnows will run from 50cm all the way down to 12 metres depending on the brand and model you choose and the target species you are after. The colour range is vast and will suit all species most often targeted by this type of lure. Trolling minnows vary greatly in price but, in general, the quality is reflected in the price and also the results you will get.

Skirted trolling lures

Skirted trolling lures are designed to mimic the look and movement of natural prey, like baitfish or squid, and are typically made of clear resin, hard plastic or metal, usually with an eye in the head and plastic or vinyl material stranded skirts attached.

Skirted trolling lures are typically rigged with one or two single in-line hooks (not kirbed, which can make the lure spin) on a medium to heavy leader. Skirted Trolling lures are usually trolled at speeds of 5 to 8 knots, are surface agitators that make a long bubble trail and excite fish like Marlin, Sailfish, Tuna, Kingfish, Mackerel, Mahi Mahi and more.

Soft plastic lures

Soft plastic lures as the name suggests are made of soft, pliable PVC or rubber. They come in various shapes and sizes and are often designed to mimic the look and movement of natural prey, like worms, crabs, or baitfish.

Soft plastic lures are usually rigged on jigheads with or without weights and fished with various techniques, like flipping, pitching, or twitching along the bottom. They’re equally effective as casting baits under boat hulls, around jetties and pylons, flats dropoffs, over shallow reefs and sand banks as well as deeper reef areas, for catching fish species like Australian Bass, Trout Murray Cod, and Bream, Flathead, Whiting, Salmon, Kingfish, Tuna, Snapper, Barramundi, all manor of tropical reef fish and more. The versatility of soft plastics cannot be underrated and when rigged on the appropriate jig head is a wonderful tool for finding fish, they are inexpensive, long lasting and should be in every tackle box.

Soft vibe lures

Soft vibe lures use a combination of vibration and sound to attract fish. They’re typically made of soft, flexible materials like PVC or rubber with a built-in vibration mechanism that creates a pulsing, vibrating action in the water, mimicking the movement of natural prey. With this in mind, soft-vibe fishing lures are versatile and usable in different fishing techniques, like casting, jigging, or trolling.

Soft vibes are now an accepted part of saltwater angling in deeper waters around reef edges, bommies and other structures and will catch Barramundi, Snapper, Coral Trout, Nannygai, Kingfish, Tuna, Trevally and a whole lot more.

Soft vibes are typically pre-rigged with heavy hardware making them a reliable, strong bait for jigging, casting and slow trolling.

Surface lures

Estuary Surface lures are designed to attract fish by disturbing the water's surface. They mimic the movement of insects, frogs, or other prey found on or near the water.

Surface lures can be made of hard plastic, wood, or foam and often have features like propellers or wings that create noise and commotion on the surface. They’re good for catching a wide range of fish species, including Trout, Australian Bass, Murray Cod, Bream, Whiting, Flathead and even Barramundi.

These fishing lures are typically worked in a "walk the dog" motion, where the angler uses a series of short, sharp jerks to create a zig-zagging motion on the water's surface, imitating the movement of fleeing prey.

Swimbait

A swimbait is a fishing lure designed to mimic the appearance and movement of a fish. They generally feature a realistic-looking fish-shaped body made of soft plastic with grooves cut into the flanks of the bait allowing them to flex and swim at very slow speeds over flats, weed beds and shallow reefs. Swimbaits are typically pre-rigged with heavy hardware and are known for their lifelike swimming action, which is achieved through the design of the lure's body. Some swimbaits have jointed sections or articulated tails, creating a natural swimming motion.

They’re a great choice for professional and recreational anglers looking to catch trophy-sized fish such as big Jewfish, Kingfish, barramundi, XOS flathead, and big trout.

Trout spinners

Trout spinners are specifically designed for targeting trout. They’re popular among anglers for their effectiveness in attracting and catching trout in various fishing environments, including rivers, streams, lakes and ponds.

Trout spinners typically have a metal blade attached to a wire shaft with one or more treble hooks. The blade spins rapidly when retrieved through the water, creating a flash and vibration that mimics the movement of a small fish or insect. This spinning action attracts the trout's attention.

Our trout spinners are available in various metallic colours to imitate the appearance of baitfish. Some spinners feature painted or patterned blades that resemble specific prey species to trigger aggressive responses from trout.
